Сrop production. The pace of seasonal work by the end of May 2021 tightened up. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, as of May 24, 2021, spring crops in general in farms of all categories were sown on an area of 39.8 million hectares, or by 100.2% by 2020.
Cereals and legumes sown - on 23.2 million hectares at the level of 2020 Sugar beets - on 1 million hectares with an increase of 7.8%, sunflower - on 7.6 million hectares with an increase of 10.3% as of last year.
The share of the Central, Southern, Volga and Siberian federal districts accounts for 85.5% of the area under crops of all spring crops.
Weather conditions in the 1-2 quarters led to the death of winter grain crops by 12 times (in agricultural organizations, excluding the NSR). So, as of May 1, 2021, winter crops died on 419.1 thousand hectares or 6.1% of their crops. As of May 1, 2020, winter crops perished on 34.8 thousand hectares or 0.5% of crops. @agrorisk
