Retail sales in Russia. As in April, in the structure of retail trade turnover in May 2021, 47.1% was occupied by the sector of food products, including beverages, and tobacco products. The non-food sector accounted for 52.9%.
In May 2020, the sectors were distributed 54.9% and 45.1%, respectively, a shift in favor of the non-food category.
In general, in January-May 2021, residents of the country ate 7.081 trillion rubles, excluding catering markets and private household plots. Compared to the period in 2020, the increase amounted to 604 billion rubles.
In May, the store food market increased its growth and was able to get into the wallets of citizens in the amount of 1,480.6 billion rubles. (+26.6 billion rubles by April 2021).
Paired May 2021/2020 the food market exceeded last May by 8.5% or 215 billion rubles. @agrorisk
