AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN QATAR

Qatar has achieved 100% self-sufficiency in poultry and dairy products. After the allocation of annual subsidies to the agricultural sector

in the amount of 70 million Qatari rials for 5 years, the crop and livestock industries have reached sustainable progressive development and self-sufficiency in a number of types of agricultural products. There has also been a qualitative leap in our own vegetable production – by 100% over the past 3 years. So in 2022, 102 thousand tons of vegetables were produced compared to 55 thousand tons in 2017. The level of self-sufficiency in local vegetables has increased from about 20% in 2017 to about 46% this year - Thepeninsulaqatar
