AVIAN INFLUENZA H5N1

As a result of a genetic analysis conducted by the Animal Health Research Department, the Ministry of Agriculture of Japan confirmed the 38th case of highly pathogenic avian influenza on December 21. The infection was recorded in the city of Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture. The identified avian influenza virus is classified as a subtype of H5N1 - The Ministry of Agriculture of Japan
