In Russia, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture sees the need to reduce the area under wheat by almost half a million hectares. The goal is to maintain the price balance, stabilize the domestic market in the interests of all participants, and realize a record harvest in 2022. The target for wheat for 2023 is 80-85 million tons. In order to maintain the stability of crop rotation, it is considered advisable to increase the area under spring barley by 400 thousand hectares and under legumes – primarily peas – by at least 125 thousand hectares .
