REJECTION OF SEEDS IN FAVOR OF GRAIN

According to the data of the last agricultural year in France, the area under seed production in the country decreased by 2%. During the annual press conference, the French Union of Seed Growers (UFS) reported that the increase in the price of cereals led to the fact that many farmers began to abandon the production of seeds in favor of grain. Moreover, the Union notes that only 50% of the planned harvest was harvested in Ukraine, and therefore a shortage of seeds of some types of grain for sowing in 2023 and 2024 is expected – Cultivar.fr
