PRICE LOCOMOTIVES. EGG AND PIG DRIVE THE MARKET

Producer price indices for livestock products. According to preliminary data, in March 2021, the price index for livestock breeders relative to February of this year amounted to 103% versus 99.8% in crop production and 101.7% in agriculture as a whole.


In just the first quarter of 2021, livestock breeders raised prices by 6.3%. If you look at the past year, the pace has increased by 5.7%.


In the first three months of this year, prices for livestock breeders grew smoothly around 2% per month. The growth peaked in March (+ 3% to the price in February).


In dynamics, by March 2020, livestock breeders' prices went up by 13.9%. All crop production in a pair Q1 2021/2020 has risen in price by 10.8%.


The main drivers in the dynamics of the rise in prices were producers of chicken eggs and pig breeding complexes. @agrorisk
